Spånga town hall is a proposal for a new urban addition in the leafy suburb of Spånga.
The building will be placed in a junction between Spånga’s various central points. The commuter train station. I created a building that plays with tectonic contrasts and creates a clear contemporary character. The building consists of a heavy concrete plinth. On top of it is placed a light glass structure that extends towards the sky. The plinth creates a lasting expression while the light body above signals transparency and gives the building resilience. The shelf opens up with large glass sections to invite visitors. The glass structure consists of frosted glass to give the offices certain integrity while the interiors receive a large amount of sublime light.
